Introducing... the Betty's Sweater Bag!

Today I'm so excited to (finally!) officially share with you all the next item in our Betty's Sweater collection: The Betty's Sweater Bag!

This collection is a collaboration with my dear friend Simone Wellbrock  in memory of my grandma and a very special sweater she once knit. It celebrates female friendship, and the amazing things that can happen when we as women support one another in going after our dreams. If you've like to read more about the story of this sweater, you can do so here (that's also where you can find out more about the first item we released- the Betty's Sweater pin).

When I thought about telling the story of these bags, I knew right away that I could use some help. We put so much thought and care into bringing them to life and we wanted them to really shine. I just couldn't think of anyone better to ask for help than my own family- my sister provided the flowers for our lifestyle shots and my cousin Finlay took all the photos. Betty was their grandma as well, and I'm so glad I could invite them to be a part of documenting this project.

To create the bag, Simone and I worked with another small business in Marburg, Artgerechtes. This company does high quality screen printing by hand, on fair trade products. When we saw the quality of their printing, we knew right away that we wanted to work with them! The bags are fair trade (Fair Wear Foundation certified), made from 80% recycled cotton and 20% polyester. They measure 38x35cm (15x14 inches). It's got the same illustration as our Betty's Sweater pin of course, which was drawn by Simone, based on that same special fisherman's sweater my grandma made all those years ago.

We'll of course have these bags up in our shop come Fall but I'm excited to share that the very first Betty's Sweater Bags will be available Tuesday July 24th in the Ink & Soil Etsy Shop (which you can access here). We're so excited about them and hope you're going to love them!
